There are two ways of being rich...

"There are two ways of being rich. One is to have all you want, the other is to be satisfied with what you have." - Unknown

How easy is it for you to really feel satisfied?  Look around you right now and notice your surroundings. Do you like what you see or do you see what you don't like?

How do you feel about yourself right now? Can you truly appreciate yourself today, still knowing there may be aspects you would like to improve?

The higher you live on the Levels of Awareness, the more likely you are to feel satisfied. That's true because the more aware and capable of making good choices you are, the less you are caught in struggle.  The higher on the Levels of Awareness you live, the richer you are likely to feel, not only in terms of finances, but also in terms of personal satisfaction.

Being satisfied is an inside job. No amount of money or material good can give you the inner feeling of satisfaction. We are not taught to be satisfied.  We are taught and trained by the media to want more.

Today don't chase satisfaction. Sit still for a moment and let it bubble up from inside you, like an underground stream.

Would You Ever Do This?

By Dr Robert Anthony

We would never start out for a long drive without gas in the car or leave our pets without food while we are gone for several days. And yet I find many people who forget to eat or take food with them if they are going to be gone for several hours.  Both our cars and our pets need nutrition and fuel everyday.  So do our bodies.

Many cars require premium gas. It is easy to forget, but your body also works better on premium fuel. By premium fuel I simply mean whole grains, vegetables, fruit and lean meats. The energy and vibration of your body will rise considerably by feeding it well.

Two other essential factors about the basics of human self-care are
exercise and rest. Just being reasonably active by moving your body
with walking, gardening or playing will increase your current
health and add to your longevity.  Working out at the gym or
playing a sport is even better, if not overdone. Any movement
counts and adds to your health. Current studies show that even ten
minutes of walking is beneficial.

Rest and sleep are the third leg of the stool of balancing your
basic health. In this fast-paced society it is easy to keep going
by drinking caffeine when twenty minutes of rest is what your body
is craving.

When you are stressed or going through change you will fare far
better if you return to the basics of self care; good food,
adequate exercise, deep sleep and daily rest.

"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then rest afterward."
- Spanish proverb

There Is No Spoon….

“Don’t try to bend the spoon. That is impossible. In stead, try to realise the truth … there is no spoon.” (The Matrix)

The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about.  Your thoughts are your subjective reality. Your dominant thoughts will find a way to manifest. In subjective reality, you are consciousness itself, the container in which the simulation of reality is run. So in subjective reality, everything is indeed real.  You’re real.  I’m real.  The physical universe is real.  Everything you experience is a manifestation of thought.  “Your mind makes it real.” (Morpheus – The Matrix)

Attracting abundance is knowledge. As any other skill people have, like driving a car, learning a new language … manifesting is no different. How good you are at it, depends on how much you practice it.

Grasping a better understanding of how the "law of attraction" works is the first step in bringing abundance into your life: There is only one subjective reality, and it’s yours. It’s important to correctly define the you in subjective reality.  You are not your physical body. No-one else has a subjective reality because they are all in your subjective reality. You can therefore not have a conflicting reality with someone else, as that someone is only part of your reality. Everything around you is manifested by you; your house, your car, even your body and your health. Nothing has any power in your reality except thought itself.

So, if thought created your reality at the moment, thought can change it. Have you ever thought about what you don’t want just to see it happen to you? Have you ever worried about something and saw what you worried about happen?

So how do you change your reality? How do you create thoughts that will manifest? Basically, just wanting something isn't going to bring that to us when we continue to obsess on the not having of that something. All we will experience is "not having" and will be ultimately blocking our true desires. You have to focus on what you want and not on what you don’t want, and you need to experience it in your imagination as being real and not just a fantasy. The more energy and certainty you put into a thought, the more dominant it becomes. You might find that you have conflicting thoughts. If that happens, you have to change your beliefs in that area. As soon as a thought corresponds to a belief you hold, that thought will manifest effortlessly. So how do you change a belief? Imagination comes in handy again. You imagine the opposite of the belief that you hold as real, and you imagine the belief you hold as no longer real. You do this for 21 days and your mind will accept it as truth.

If you don’t believe your thoughts can change your reality, then they won’t. If you don’t know what you believe, then you manifest uncertainty. Your reality will appear uncertain and confusing.

Those people who are efficient in attracting have trained their minds to focus on their desires. They have learned it so well that they often don't even realize how they do it. Abundance comes to them naturally.

To change your reality, assume responsibility for the reality you have created. Then begin creating the reality you truly want by thinking consciously about what you want (and feel good about it) and stop thinking about what you don’t want. You will know you are doing it right by your feelings. If you feel bad, you are thinking about something you don’t want. You then just need to stop thinking about what you don’t want, and start thinking about what you do want, changing your feelings, and your thoughts will manifest.

Twelve Qualities that make you a leader

Summary of Sheila Murray Bethel’s book with the same title - by Hannah du Plessis

What leadership is not: It is not Management. Management is working with and through people and groups to accomplish organizational goals. Leadership is influencing human behaviour, regardless of the goal.

A leader is first of all a person who serves people. In order to lead, people need to know that you care about them. You show you care by excellent service to them.

A leader has a mission that matters. Leaders become impassioned by a vision of an improvement in people's lives and that passion becomes a driving force.

A leader is a great thinker. Without big thinking, we'd have no big results — and very few small ones. It is the big thinking of leaders that moves humanity forward. They are able to see people, places and things in a bigger and better light than currently exists. They see potential. They seek opportunity. They find answers before others have asked the questions. Big, productive thinking flows from a fully functional imagination. Creative thinkers have open minds to all thoughts — they don't judge or reject ideas prematurely or automatically. Leaders and big thinkers can literally change the world because they believe they can. That belief comes from a deep faith in themselves and others. People often don't have that faith in themselves, so they welcome and gladly follow a leader who does have that faith and vision.

A leader has high ethics. Ethics are high standards of honest and honourable dealings based on our morals. Ethics are a set of basic working tenets for life and business. How we act and what we do, our methods of functioning, and how we apply our morals is our ethical behaviour. Ethics are APPLICATION. To live by your own ethical standards, you must first be clear what they are. Life is more fast-paced than ever before. "Winning" and getting ahead and making lots of money have become the common measures of success and, too often, that means "no matter what the cost." Ethics are all too-often compromised on personal and professional levels.

A leader is a change Master. Communication, travel, science and technology — the reasons behind our "shrinking world" — have meant that change happens at exponential speed in our times. That means all change, positive and negative, designed and accidental. We must adapt — or become extinct. Extinction may take the form of products that are unmarketable, management styles that are ineffective, systems that are pointless, or relationships that are meaningless.

There will be times when change happens that is out of your control — maybe not even foreseen by you. There will be other times when you create change for the benefit of your vision and the people you lead. In either case, you cannot determine how other people will change or react, but you can impact their openness and receptivity. Provide new information to expand your followers' thinking. Show them how their lives or work may become easier, more efficient, more pleasant, etc. once the change is in place. Provide new ideas to spark their creativity and broaden their horizons. Help them to imagine what things would be like with the change in place — how much better (and not so bad) than they had first thought. Create an open door by brainstorming and considering the possibilities.

Provide new experiences to build a desire for a belief in the value of change. Introduce "tests" or "examples" of what the change might mean for people to "try out." Perhaps your situation would be appropriate for people to go see another environment with the change in place — so they can experience it for themselves.

A leader is sensitive. In any type of leadership role, you will be more effective by incorporating sensitivity to economic policy, government regulations, quality control, excellent service, trends, and so forth. Equally important is a sensitivity to the people you are leading. You can only be as effective as are the people you are leading. By supporting them on issues important to them, you are nurturing their effectiveness. Leaders who can make a difference understand that people return value when they are valued. When they see a connection between their personal goals and those of an organization, they will work very hard to further the organization's goals. Your sensitivity to people will help you match the right person to the right job or task. It will help you take an appropriate amount of risk to set an example for others and help them gain confidence in their own actions. People become renewed and fulfilled when their leader is able to help them deliver their own best performances. Leaders today work WITH people to empower them to bring out their best abilities, whereas leaders used to do things TO people to elevate their status.

A leader is a risk taker. There wouldn't be much point in having a mission to make a difference and all the right big ideas if we didn't have the courage to take a few risks to make it happen. Without risk, many of the big ideas would never even be possible and results would never materialize. Quite simply, the risk is the glue between a big idea and turning it into reality. Risk means that you may suffer harm or loss as a result of taking certain actions. Sometimes that harm is serious physical danger, but more often it is a fear of failure and ridicule in the eyes of friends and associates. It's important to have a strong belief in what you're doing, so that the risk of criticism or ridicule don't matter enough to hold you back.

A leader is a Decision Maker. Until decisions to take action are made, all you have is ideas and potential. At its worst, indecisiveness wastes time, effort, money, energy, and…life. Smart leaders understand that the wrong decision is better than no decision at all. And, NOT deciding actually is a decision, but for all the wrong reasons. As difficult as it may be to decide, when you determined to lead, you chose to be a decision maker. Decisions give birth to action, excitement and results. Indecision gives birth to regret.

A leader has Power. By using your power to empower others will foster confidence them. The result will be more energy and efficiency on the team. People will trust themselves when they see that you have entrusted them with power. They'll be bigger thinkers and maybe develop into leaders themselves. You will bring out the best and the potential of people when you empower them to take action. Wise leaders who support others by sharing power find that their own personal power grows in terms of loyalty and respect.

Those who covet power and hold it close become dictatorial, authoritative, and....alienated. When power is shared, it grows; when it is guarded, it vanishes. Wise leaders also know that true power is not flaunted or forced. Effective leaders don't intimidate or "pull rank." Effective power is typically used quietly, through persuasion, cooperation, respect, and example. Power at its dynamic best is used when it is needed, in emergencies and crises. Its value is in creating support for people and projects, rather than tearing them down.

A leader communicates effectively. Without effective communication, you simply won't be able to make a difference. Good communicators have two things going for them — SKILL and PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY, which takes the form of attitude and passion. Just as you don't know what's going on if you don't see it first-hand, you will be totally out of touch if you don't LISTEN to the people. Listening is the way you learn what's going on — and how people are being affected. More often than not, when there are problems in an organization, the leader hasn't paid attention well enough to hear about them until it's too late. Learn the art of communication from experts.

A leader is a team builder. One of the most rewarding aspects of leadership is to contribute to and watch people grow into their own potential. As they solve problems, build skills and reach goals, you'll realize that you're actually making a difference with them. You'll soon learn that most people are just waiting to be asked to help make a difference on the planet. The best way to do this together is with teams. Attract the right people and then motivate and train them and you'll be on your way to making a big difference.

A leader is courageous. The role of leaders has become global, demanding the courage to act in the best interests of the people in our country and around the planet. Courage also inspires followers. As they see their leader go down difficult paths, face danger, make sacrifices, stand up for their beliefs, and remain true to their strengths and instincts, followers also become more courageous and strong.

A leader is committed.  People who have a fear of commitment can never be a leader. A leader is committed to his followers and to show the above traits.

The Secret To Success is to Master Yourself

By Hannah du Plessis

Many people have the ambition to succeed; they may even have special aptitude for their job. And yet they do not move ahead. Why? Perhaps they think that since they can master the job, there is no need to master themselves.” - John Stevenson

Statistically, most self-help and how-to books stay unopened on the shelf, or read once and then forgotten.

The reason for this is that most people are just not disciplined enough to study these books bit by bit or one section at a time and master it before moving onto the next level.

That is why musicians are among the most successful because they have to learn one skill at a time and then practice it until they master it before going on to the next skill.

That is also why schools and universities are so effective because they also teach skills bit by bit until their students master it.

What is the secret to success?

1.    Mastering different skills
2.    Practicing them often
3.    Try and fail until you succeed

You can only do this if you are self-disciplined.

If you have mastered yourself.

Bit by bit

Little by little

Piece by piece

Those who are successful have learned to master themselves.

So, what are you going to do today? Are you going to make some more excuses, or are you going to knuckle down and master yourself so you can do what it takes?

Daily inspiration may help you.

A boost in self-confidence may help you.

But in the end, it is up to you.

Be all you can be!

To Your Success!

Why Are You Not Fulfilling Your Potential?

“The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.” - Arthur C Clarke

“Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.” - Liane Cordes

“Questions provide the key to unlocking our unlimited potential.” - Anthony Robbins

Very few people can claim that they have achieved all that they are capable of. Do you have a nagging feeling that you could do much, much more with your life and career?

What is that is stopping you right now from making a much greater contribution to society? What is that is preventing you from fulfilling your potential?

1. You do not have enough belief in yourself.

All successful people have enormous self-belief. This does not mean that they are arrogant, narcissistic or complacent -- on the contrary, they are self critical and push themselves hard because they know that they can achieve more.

What is it that is special about you?

2. You do not measure yourself against written goals.

It is hard to make progress if you have no clear goals for your life. Set yourself targets in the areas that are important to you. You can be flexible and adjust how you move forward but you must keep moving.

Do you have written objectives that you track regularly?

3. You are too comfortable where you are.

It is easy and natural to settle into a rut. High achievers take risks. They move out of their comfort zones.

Where are you right now -- inside your comfort zone or taking risks?

4. You are lazy.

Either that or you waste a lot of time every day on low value activities.  If you have clear goals but are not making progress towards them, look at your activity level. Persistence pays dividends.

How high is your work rate?

5. You are not mixing with high achievers.

Let’s face it -- your friends and family are really nice people but they are not challenging you to achieve more. Spend more time with high flyers and positive thinkers who understand ambition and achievement. They will encourage you and give you the direct advice you need.

How much time are you spending with really successful people?

What Do You Need To Release?

By Dr Robert Anthony

"'Soul' is not a thing, but a quality or dimension of experiencing
life and ourselves. It has to do with depth, value, relatedness,
heart and personal substance." - Thomas Moore

Part of living a deeper, richer life is honoring what is important
to you. You can do this through ritual and celebration. You may be
part of a group or religion or culture that still focuses on
rituals and rites of passage. But, for many, there is not much
formal ritual remaining in their lives.

But, that's OK, you can make your own ritual. Let's take your
participation in this program as an example. Design ways to honor
and acknowledge the shifts and changes you experience as you
journey through the course.

Let's look at some possibilities.

1. Write down what you have decided to release in your life, for
example, your limiting beliefs and stories, and then burn the paper
in the fireplace. Light some candles and make a declaration of
freedom from limitation out loud. You can do this anytime you want
to let go of something in your life.

2. Celebrate the completion of your Follow-up Items by honoring at
least one major insight you had through doing them. You can do this
when you complete one Item or by each DVD or by each month - you
decide how often you want to celebrate. Use fine food, dress,
decorations, candles, etc. to enhance the special nature of the
occasion.

3. Make a commitment in writing to yourself - a contract - for what
you are focusing on in Follow-up. If you decide you no longer want
to fulfill the contract, have a ceremony to dissolve the contract -
don't just blow it off.

4. Write a mission statement for yourself on how you choose to live
your life. Add color and pictures if you like. Frame and display it
where you can see it everyday.

5. Find a special totem to keep in your pocket or on your desk to
remind you of what you value most.

We encourage you to make a big deal out of the little things in
your life - for yourself and your family - create traditions that
honor you and yours simply for being the magnificent people that
you are.

What can you do today to celebrate your life?

What it Takes to Be a Winner

By Hannah du Plessis

“If you continue to do what you’ve always done, you will continue to get what you’ve always got!” – Yogi Berra

It is easy to be a loser. All you have to do after you failed at something is to continue doing the same thing and being the same way. It really is that simple. Most people are scared of the challenges that being successful will bring, or they just lack the willpower to do what it takes to be successful. The realization that they are going to fail again creates anxiety and emotional unrest which most people don’t like and they return quickly to the familiar world of excuses and justifications.

Unless the cycle of thought patterns is broken in those who fail, they will experience a lower quality of life that lacks the good things in life that comes with success. The truth is: nobody is born a success, and nobody is born a failure. Losers learn from the mainstream: Negative thoughts and negative actions. Winners learn from other winners, change their thoughts accordingly, and do their best to copy their actions.

Losers say: “Don’t dream! Dreaming is impractical. Only fools dream. We are in reality! One should stay in the real world!” Winners, on the other hand, dream and dream big. The great King Solomon said over 3000 years ago …. “Unless people dream they perish.”  Did he mean dream when you sleep? No! He meant one should have a firm goal or objective to achieve.

If we dream and do not believe that we will accomplish our dreams, the dream becomes just an idle wish, and will never be attained. On the other hand if we remember and do what Napoleon Hill said, we will never fail. He said: "Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit."

The following is an example of someone who didn’t quit. See how many times he “failed.”
PORTRAIT OF AN ACHIEVER – Abraham Lincoln
  • 1831 - FAILED IN BUSINESS, BANKRUPTCY
  • 1832 - DEFEATED FOR LEGISLATURE
  • 1834 - FAILED IN BUSINESS, BANKRUPTCY
  • 1835 - FIANCE DIES
  • 1836 - NERVOUS BREAKDOWN
  • 1838 - DEFEATED FOR U.S. CONGRESS
  • 1846 - DEFEATED AGAIN FOR U.S. CONGRESS
  • 1848 - DEFEATED ONCE AGAIN FOR U.S. CONGRESS
  • 1855 - DEFEATED FOR U.S. SENATE
  • 1856 - DEFEATED FOR U.S. VICE PRESIDENCY
  • 1858 - DEFEATED AGAIN FOR U.S. SENATE
  • 1860 - ELECTED 16TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
From the above it is clear that you can’t fail unless you quit.
The great Gandhi taught: “If one advances toward a specified objective or goal, and does not lose ‘belief” in its attainment; even though they may start their journey without the necessary tools or knowledge of how to get there; if they keep their faith and focus they shall most assuredly obtain the required tools and knowledge along the way.”

Let’s look at the differences between winners and losers:

A winner says: “Let’s find out”
A loser says: “nobody knows”

When a winner makes a mistake, he says: “I was wrong.”
When a loser makes a mistake he says: “It wasn’t my fault.”

A winner goes through a problem and deals with it.
A loser goes around a problem, and never gets past it.

A winner makes commitments.
A loser makes promises

A winner says: “I am good, but not as good as I ought to be.”
A loser says: “I am not as bad as a lot of other people.”

A winner tries to learn from those who are superior to him/her.
A loser tries to tear down those who are superior to him/her.

A winner says: “There ought to be a better way to do it.”
A loser says: “That’s the way it has always been done.”

A winner says: “I will find the right people who can help me.”
A loser says: “I will do it myself.”

A winner looks for an answer in every problem.
A loser looks for a problem in every answer.

A winner says: “I will do it now!”
A loser says: “I will do it later.”

A winner says: “I will quit trying and simply do.”
A loser says: “I will keep trying.”

A winner says: “I will create my own good luck.”
A loser says: “I might get lucky.”

A winner makes things happen.
A loser lets things happen.

Now you can see that winners make different choices than losers. They think different thoughts, believe different things, adopt different attitudes, and therefore produce different results in their lives. Now you have the choice to look at the above attitudes, and decide which you want to be; a winner, or a loser. The choice is yours.

Harness Your Point Of Attraction

By Dr Robert Anthony

"When you can embrace all of life, not holding onto anything
beyond its time and not avoiding it once its time has come, you
will know the meaning of Freedom." - Unknown

The dictionary defines Freedom as; "The quality or state of being
free; the absence of necessity, coercion or constraint in choice
or action; liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power
of another."

How would you define Freedom for yourself? It strikes me that much
of what the Secret of Deliberate Program teaches you is how to set
yourself free - free from your stories, free from your past, free
from "shoulds", free from need.

I talk repeatedly in the course about choice. You cannot control
the circumstances or people around you, but you can always choose
how you react to them. Much of what is difficult about difficult
situations, is not the situation itself, but how you react to it.
Have you ever made a situation worse by overreacting? What if you
had kept from getting knocked off balance by what was happening,
would that have changed anything?

The goal of Deliberate Creation is to be able to consciously set
your Point of Attraction. That means that how you feel is not
dependent upon external circumstances. It is not dependent upon
your mate doing the dishes or your child picking up his room or
your friend calling you or who wins the election. Your Point of
Attraction is determined solely by you, by what you believe, think,
expect and feel. No one and nothing else is ever to blame - ever.
No one makes you unhappy - you do that. No one can make you
happy - only you can do that. It's your choice - always.

When you can stay centered and balanced no matter what is going on
around you - when you can consciously choose instead of letting
circumstance dictate how you feel - then you have got ("groked"
for those of you who remember Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange
Land") how to consciously create your life.

I think the quote above sums it up quite eloquently. If we are
truly letting all of life in, without judgment, without labels,
embracing all of it, not clutching at what is no longer ours nor
pushing away what is, then we truly are free.

As you go about your day today see in what ways you can set
yourself free.

Create Your future.

You Are Totally Unique

By Hannah du Plessis

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You." Dr. Seuss

You are totally unique.

That’s right; there is no one else like you on this planet. You are totally unique.

Have you ever met anyone that is just like you? I mean exactly like you: Your hopes and dreams, your likes and dislikes, your physical appearance: eye colour, hair colour. No, even identical twins are not 100% similar. If you ask them, they will tell you how they are different. There will be something somewhere; a preference, a mark, a slight variation in colour.

If you look even further, we have different fingerprints, different retina patterns, different DNA, our talents and what motivates us. Each of us an individual masterpiece created totally unique by the Creator.

If you look at psychometric testing: Each test gives different results: Each one gives different preferences, shows how we are motivated, shows different talents and gifts, each one unique, each one a masterpiece.

Is it surprising then that we want different jobs, and even if the job is the same, like a nurse or a teacher, we do it in a different way. No two exactly the same. Your best friend may be excellent at doing admin work. You may be better at working with your hands. I know I thrive on challenges, so I am excellent at sales and marketing. But my best friend is different; she likes to have a job where she is creative in a quiet, peaceful way. No two people have exactly the same preferences or do things exactly the same way.

Your potential, which is really a combination of your gifts and talents, describes in detail who you are. It is so detailed that it defines precisely how you are unique.

Just think: How many people have the talent to be able to do a heart operation, or build a rocket that works from scratch? How many people have the talents to be able to find the cure for a disease?

This is only one gift or talent. However, most people have more than two things they are excellent at. If you have any unique gift, that gift puts you in the top 1% of the population for that gift, and when you speak about odds like that, when you add more of your talents or gifts the odds of others having the same can increase to one in ten billion. There aren’t even that many people on earth.

How judgement robs you of success...

By Dr Robert Anthony

"It's impossible to hate anyone whose story you know." - H.S. Boylan

We talk a lot, in our work with Personality Filters, about developing compassion, both for yourself and others. We say that when you understand why someone behaves the way they do, then you are more able to feel compassion instead of judgement toward them.

Typically, when we judge someone we are making a whole host of assumptions. Take a simple judgement: "She should be on time". Is that true?

Do you know:

-If something unavoidable occurred to prevent her from being on time?
-What lessons she is learning in her life by being late?
-If being on time is an important standard for her?
-If her inner guidance was keeping her from a certain intersection at a certain time?

The bottom line is that you don't know, you never really know what someone else's path in life involves. Therefore, the answer is always, "No, it's not true". It's just your opinion.

Having compassion does not mean that you have to condone someone's hurtful behavior, but it does mean that you don't judge the person. Now I imagine that some of you are thinking, "What about criminals?" I'm willing to bet that the most heinous crimes are committed by people who had heinous things done to them as children. Does that excuse or justify their behavior? Definitely not. But if you knew their story, you would feel more compassion for them. We see this in our work in the judicial system, where judges pass judgment on the action of an individual, while remaining compassionate to the person.

Our day to day judgments are typically not of that magnitude. They are mostly about things that we believe other people should be doing based on our own values, standards, wishes or needs. So the next time you find yourself judging someone, take the judgemental thought and ask yourself; Is that true? Can you know with absolute certainty that it is true? If you're not in that other
person's skin the answer has to be - No, it's not true.

Seven Ways To Simplify Your Life Right Away

By Dr Robert Anthony

"There is more to life than increasing its speed." - Gandhi

Do you sometimes feel like your life is too rushed or too
complicated? Do you find yourself longing for a simpler time?
Wikipedia says, "Simplicity is the property, condition or quality
of being simple or un-combined. It often denotes beauty, purity or
clarity. Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand
than complicated ones. Simplicity can mean freedom from hardship,
effort or confusion.  It can also mean adopting a simpler
lifestyle."

There is a plethora of information being thrown at us everyday,
options galore and pressure to buy more stuff and do more things.
We are overloaded with decisions that have to be made. Even if
you're an info junkie or someone who thrives on options, there is
benefit in slowing down and simplifying your life, even if only
occasionally. Simplifying your life - internally and externally -
can free up space and time for you and can lead to more joy and
more Flow. There are many ways to simplify your life.

Here are just a few:

-Limit stuff to what you need and cherish.
-Spend time in nature instead of at the mall.
-Clear out clutter (internally and externally).
-Be willing to say "no".
-Eat simply and healthy.
-Release complicated, unhealthy relationships.
-Let go of worrying about the future and "be here now".

What could you change/release in your life to create more simplicity?

Did You Know .... Low Self Esteem and Materialism is Connected?

By Dr Robert Anthony

Researchers have found that there is not just a correlation between low self-esteem and materialism, but also a causal relationship where low self-esteem INCREASES materialism and materialism can CREATE low self-esteem. They also found that as an individual's self-esteem increases, their interest in materialism decreases. In a study primarily focused on how this relationship effects children and adolescents, Lan Nguyen Chaplin (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and Deborah Roedder John (University of Minnesota) found that even a simple gesture to raise self-esteem dramatically decreased materialism.

"By the time children reach early adolescence and experience a decline in self-esteem, the stage is set for the use of material possessions as a coping strategy for feelings of low self-worth". The paradox that findings such as these bring up, is that consumerism is good for the economy in the short run, but bad for the individual in the long run, especially for young people.

Most of us want more income so we can consume more stuff. However, several separate studies show that as societies become richer, they do not become happier. Statistically people have more material possessions and money than they did fifty years ago, but they are actually less happy. In fact, the wealthiest countries have more depression, alcoholism and more crime than they did fifty years ago and yet we have more material goods to purchase than ever
before. This paradox is true of Britain, the United States, Australia, continental Europe and Japan.

The real reason people want whatever is currently "hot" or "in style" is because they believe it will contribute towards their satisfaction and happiness in life. The word "believe" is the key here. People believe that buying more and more things, especially name brand clothes and cars, will make them happy, when in fact research has shown time and time again that this simply isn't the case.

The point here is if you believe that when you get enough "stuff" you will be happy, you are setting yourself up to be very disappointed. So instead why not be happy NOW?  That's right! Cut out the middleman (all that stuff you think will make you happy when you get it) and just be happy NOW. A radical idea, wouldn't you say?

Today will bring you a new awareness, a lesson or a manifestation that you are making progress - IF YOU LOOK FOR IT!  No matter how large or small, please record it in your Evidence Journal. It will only take a few moments and will AUTOMATICALLY put you in the Flow.

Be All You Can Be!

By Hannah du Plessis

Success has to do with attitude. I have never seen a destructive attitude producing a winning result, Have you?

What is attitude? It is your heart and mind set. What you believe. You either have a winning attitude, or a destructive (losing) attitude. A winning attitude produces a winning result. A destructive attitude produces a losing result.

Which areas of your life are you successful in? Which areas need work?

Check your attitude in both areas. Then consciously decide on a winning one.

Don’t limit yourself with your attitude. Turn it around.

Be All you can be.

Repeat these affirmations to yourself throughout your day.
  • I have an awesome attitude.
  • I am determined to succeed.
  • I work hard and smart.
