Limits? What Limits?

"Know your limits, then ignore them." - John Mason

We all have limits. However, we always seem to break our limitations. Every time we learn and apply a new skill, we break a limit we used to have.

Sometimes we convince ourselves that something can’t be done. The bigger the task, the more time consuming, the more complicate, the more we are daunted by it.

Our limits tend to be fear or comfort. First, we are afraid of failure and don’t like the idea of working long hard hours to reach a goal just to have it fail. So fear of failure stops us from doing. We have unlimited potential. We can literally do anything we set our minds on.

The sad reality is that we believe ourselves to be limited and don't release the power that is inside of us.

We allow things to put a lid on our potential.

People say all sorts of negative things to us about what we can and can't do. And we believe them. They can be so negative when we tell them what we want to accomplish. Especially those closest to us. Sometimes they label us. Authority figures in our lives have limited us by what they have said and how they have treated us.

How have others limited your potential by their labels or 'assurance' that "you could never do it"? Make a decision to reject their "authority". Who knows what is still in you? How can anyone possibly know what you can or cannot do?

Others may suffocate our potential by being negative or discouraging us. They are like invisible chains that hold us back. They are like stumbling blocks in our strive to be all we can be. Don’t spend any time with these people. Find friends who encourage you to be better and to achieve more. Unfortunately there are few friends who can regularly do that for us.  for us. That is one of the main reasons why I have started this blog. We need that encouragement and inspiration to be all we can be.

Take a score of your friends and acquaintances: Who can you spend more time with? Who should you stay away from?

Spend more time with people who will build you up and encourage you to be all that you can be.

Who would that be for you?

Spend more time reading about how you can succeed.

Handling Change

By Hannah du Plessis

"If we don't change the direction we're going, we're likely to end up where we are headed." –Chinese proverb

Have you ever tried to quit smoking or go on a diet? How about making changes to your beliefs? If you did, then you know how difficult it is to make a lasting change. And if it is so difficult to make a change in habit or beliefs, how difficult would it be to change your work ethics, environment, or structures ... or to change your career?

Change has been proven to be a good thing. Look at the way the world changed after the invention of electricity, the telephone, the motor car and the aeroplane. Also look at the way we do things compared to 100 years ago. Change is good!

If change is good, then why do we find it so difficult? It comes down to behaviour. People just can’t seem to change the way they behave. Examples are the growing waistlines in the western world. People are getting rounder. Diabetes is becoming an epidemic. Why? Eating habits: Behaviour!

If you as an individual want to change you need:

·         A definite goal
·         A strong reason why
·         Powerful motivation in the form of reward
·         Intense focus
·         Swift dealing with things that take your eyes off your goal

Why change your behaviour?

People who change their behaviour are winners. 95% of people just exist. They don’t live life to the fullest. It is the 5% that work for change that really live. The powerful feeling you get when you’ve reached a goal is tremendously satisfying.

So what do you need to change in your life or your business today? Make sure you remove all blocks and obstacles. Start setting goals, work on a powerful why, decide what your reward will be, focus all your attention on it, and make that change! Decide which direction you will be going in so that you can get there.

Seven Ways To Simplify Your Life Right Away

By Dr Robert Anthony

"There is more to life than increasing its speed." - Gandhi

Do you sometimes feel like your life is too rushed or too
complicated? Do you find yourself longing for a simpler time?
Wikipedia says, "Simplicity is the property, condition or quality
of being simple or un-combined. It often denotes beauty, purity or
clarity. Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand
than complicated ones. Simplicity can mean freedom from hardship,
effort or confusion.  It can also mean adopting a simpler
lifestyle."

There is a plethora of information being thrown at us everyday,
options galore and pressure to buy more stuff and do more things.
We are overloaded with decisions that have to be made. Even if
you're an info junkie or someone who thrives on options, there is
benefit in slowing down and simplifying your life, even if only
occasionally. Simplifying your life - internally and externally -
can free up space and time for you and can lead to more joy and
more Flow. There are many ways to simplify your life.

Here are just a few:

-Limit stuff to what you need and cherish.
-Spend time in nature instead of at the mall.
-Clear out clutter (internally and externally).
-Be willing to say "no".
-Eat simply and healthy.
-Release complicated, unhealthy relationships.
-Let go of worrying about the future and "be here now".

What could you change/release in your life to create more simplicity?

You Can Do Anything

By Hannah du Plessis

"Man belongs where man wants to go" - Werner Von Braun

How many times have you said to yourself that you couldn't do something? That something is too difficult to accomplish? That something is impossible to do? That something could never work?

What comes to my mind when I hear that something is "impossible" is the Wright brothers who were trying to fly. People laughed at them and told them humans can't fly it's impossible. They were laughed at and ridiculed. Until they built something that worked.... and they could fly.

What do you do when someone tells you that you can't do something. Do you listen to them?

Negative self talk and listening to negative comments and advice from others are limiting you. Man has no limits. We can accomplish anything we set our minds to. We can do anything and go anywhere.

Believe in yourself.  Believe in your dreams.

You are invincible!

What Is Success?

By Hannah du Plessis

When you look at a person who owns his own business, or businesses, you get the feeling of power. You see the person as a powerful person who makes important decisions that affect many people. An example of power is the TV reality program “The Apprentice.” We see Donald Trump in such a position and making such decisions.

So we learn that “power” is a virtue; something that someone who has worked hard to be in a position of leadership or authority has. We see that person as “successful” in his career or occupation. Many people strive for positions of power which make them feel successful. Many a crime has been committed for this feeling of power.

But is this view of power real power? What is power really? What is success?

Henry Ford’s definition:

"To do more for the world than the world does for you - that is success."

Indeed “power” is the counterfeit of “success.” Many people think that when they feel powerful, they are successful. However, those who have true power build something bigger than themselves; something that benefits mankind, something that gives back to the world. They use their power to create.

What can you create today that is bigger than you? What do you have in you that you can give back to the world?
